Our Statement of Faith

This page details our church statement of faith. In summary, we believe and affirm the following:

  • There is one triune God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • We believe that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again to save us from our sins
  • The Bible is divinely inspired, inerrant in its original language
  • The Church is made up of human beings, not bricks and mortar, who are called to serve one another and spread the gospel message to the nations

Our belief in god

We believe in the trinity of God which is expounded upon in each of the three tabs below. As such, we affirm the belief in one triune God, infinite Spirit, creator, and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function.

Scripture Reference: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

We affirm that the Father is the first person of the Trinity and the source of all that God is and does. From Him the Son is eternally generated and from Them the Spirit eternally proceeds. He is the designer of creation, the speaker of revelation, the author of redemption, and the sovereign of history.

Our belief in The bible

The Bible is a true story that documents true historical events, letters, epistles, and poetry. As such, we affirm that the Bible—both the Old and New Testament—was written by men, but also supernaturally inspired by God. It is a story that can be summarized as the the creation, fall, and redemption of mankind through the power of Jesus. All of its words are the true revelation of God. It is, therefore, inerrant in the original languages and authoritative in all matters. It can be understood by all through the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Its meaning is determined by the historical, grammatical, and literary use of the author’s language. The meaning can be understood by comparing Scripture with Scripture.

Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:160; John 17:17

  • We affirm that all things were created by God. Angels were created as ministering agents, though some, under the leadership of Satan, fell from their sinless state to become agents of evil. The universe was created in six historical days and is continuously sustained by God; it both reflects His glory and reveals His truth. Human beings were created by God alone, without the aid of evolution. He created human beings in His image, the Imago Dei. As agents capable of moral reasoning, we are held accountable under God for understanding and governing ourselves and the world.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:1-31; Nehemiah 9:6; Colossians 1:16-17; Psalm 8:3-6

  • We affirm that Adam—the first man to be created—willfully disobeyed God, thus bringing sin and death into the world. As a result, all persons are sinners from conception, which is evidenced in their willful acts of sin; and they are therefore subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a holy God.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 5:12, 3:23; Psalm 51:5; Ephesians 2:1-3

  • We affirm that Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice by the appointment of the Father. He fulfilled the demands of God by living a sinless and obedient life, dying on the cross as payment for the sins of all, being buried, and arising both physically and bodily from the dead three days later. He ascended into heaven where He now intercedes for all believers.

    Scripture Reference: Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 7:25

Our Belief in the church

We affirm that a church is a local assembly of baptized believers, under the discipline of the Word of God and the lordship of Christ, organized to carry out the commission to evangelize, to teach, and to administer the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s table. Its offices are pastors and deacons, and it is self-governing. It functions through the ministry of gifts given by the Holy Spirit to each believer.

Scripture Reference: Acts 2:42-47; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 28:18-20

Justification

Justification, or becoming saved, is not achieved through our own works. In other words, we cannot gain God's favor through what we do; it is an act of the heart. As such, we affirm that each person can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ, by confessing and repenting of sin, and by faith alone in Him as Savior. The believer is then declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, cleansed from sin, and assured of heaven.

Scripture Reference: John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7

Sanctification

Sanctification is the spiritual growth that God stirs in the hearts of believers both young and old. As such, we affirm that the Holy Spirit indwells all who are born again, conforming them to the likeness of Jesus Christ. This is a process that is completed only when we reach heaven. Every believer is responsible to live in obedience to the Word of God in separation from sin.

Our belief in the family

God has established the family as the foundational institution of human society, composed of individuals related through marriage, blood, or adoption. As such, we affirm that marriage is a lifelong, covenantal union between one man and one woman. This sacred relationship is a unique gift from God, meant to illustrate the union between Christ and His church. Within marriage, God provides a framework for deep companionship, a channel for sexual expression according to His standards, and the means for human procreation.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 6:1-4; Ephesians 5:25-32; (Genesis 1:28; Hebrews 13:4)

Husbands & Wives

Husbands and wives hold equal value before God, as both are created in God’s image. The marriage relationship mirrors God’s covenantal relationship with His people, where the husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church, demonstrating self-sacrifice, provision, protection, and leadership The wife, in turn, is called to submit to her husband’s servant leadership, as the church submits to Christ, respecting and supporting him while sharing in the responsibility of managing the household and nurturing the next generation.

Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:27; Ephesians 5:25-29; Ephesians 5:22-24; Titus 2:3-5

children

Children are a gift and heritage from the Lord from the moment of conception. Parents have the vital responsibility to model God’s design for marriage and instill spiritual and moral virtues in their children. This is achieved through consistent example, loving discipline, and instruction rooted in biblical truth. In turn, children are to honor and obey their parents as an act of obedience to God.
